Alison McIntyre, Estate Agent, Pomphreys Properties

ALISON L MCINTYRE

Estate Agent & Property Manager

01698 373365

Being an estate agent and property manager at Pomphreys Properties is a very varied, busy and fulfilling role!

For sale properties, I am responsible for the initial valuation, marketing, organising, conducting viewings and negotiating offers before passing to my client’s solicitor to begin the conveyancing.

For rental properties, I value, market, organise viewings, liaise with landlords, find and vet a suitable tenant, prepare the Tenancy Agreement, inventories and deal with all the legal requirements. Once the tenant is in place, I collect rental payments, mediate and resolve any issues between tenants and landlords.

How did you end up in this role?

I previously worked in the Banking Industry and then took a career break for our children. I began my Estate Agency Journey in 2000 joining Pomphreys to set up their Estate Agency Department. Early on I recognised the Letting side was an area we had to progress in, so I take great pride in having listed and leased hundreds of properties to date as well as having a Portfolio of fully managed properties on behalf of longstanding and new clients.

Gordon Sommerville provided me with the fantastic opportunity to set up Pomphreys Properties in 2017, and it’s been going strong ever since.

What aspects of your job do you find most fulfilling?

Meeting new clients and having the pleasure of being involved in their house sale or rental, an important stage in their lives. No matter what size or price of property, I treat every transaction the same, to achieve the very best outcome with a friendly and professional approach. I am extremely grateful for clients who return and recommend their family and friends.

Could you describe your day at Pomphreys Properties?

Every day is different! Some days are spent out of the Office with property valuations, rental inspections and accompanied viewings. Others are office based, catching up with clients, meetings, setting closing dates for popular properties, negotiating and discussing offers.

I have over 70 rental properties to manage so sometimes that can be challenging. I rely on my trusted tradesmen of plumbers, joiners and electricians for any issues which pop up and can be quickly resolved.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

Spending time with our children and two grandchildren, travelling and watching sport, in particular football!

What do you appreciate most about working at Pomphreys Properties?

Having the support of Laura, my assistant who helps with all aspects of the business and working closely with Pomphreys Solicitors, a fantastic and very knowledgeable team.
