Meet The Team
Gordon Sommerville
Senior Partner
Gordon graduated from the University of Dundee and joined Pomphrey’s in 1977, becoming a Partner in 1980.
He now heads our Private Client department and has extensive experience in dealing with Estate Planning and Succession, wills, Executry Estates, Powers of Attorney, and Guardianship Orders.
He is also a Director with Enable Trustee Service Limited, and deals with financial planning for family members who have learning difficulties or disabilities, including the formation of Discretionary Trusts.
Outwith Office hours Gordon enjoys walking, playing golf, and following his local football team, Motherwell F.C.
Robert Allan
Partner
Robert graduated from Strathclyde University in 1980, joining Pomphrey’s in 1981 and became a partner in 2000.
He deals with all Residential and Commercial Conveyancing specialising in leases for shops and Office premises.
Outside the Office Robert enjoys science fiction and walking his dogs.
Iain C Wilson
Partner
Iain graduated from Glasgow University with honours and joined Pomphrey’s in 1997, becoming a Partner in 2004.
Iain deals with all civil court matters and specialises in Family Law, Divorce, Separation, Matrimonial and Cohabitation claims and Contact and Residence orders in relation to children. Out with the office he enjoys spending time with his family, is a keen climber and hill walker and a member of Hamilton Tennis Club.Sarah Lynch
Partner
Sarah studied at Dundee University achieving a 2:1 LLB Honours degree in Scots Law. She then moved back to Glasgow to study the Diploma in Legal Practice being one of only a small number of students to be offered a funded position for academic excellence achieved during the LLB. Sarah then secured a traineeship concentrating on Personal Injury before deciding to broaden her scope of work to all civil litigation.
Sarah joined Pomphrey’s as an Assistant solicitor in 2014 before being promoted to Associate in 2015 and later Partner in 2018. Sarah now offers advice on a broad spectrum of civil litigation matters including, family and matrimonial law, employment law, personal injury and consumer issues to name but a few.
Outside of working hours Sarah is married and has a daughter. She enjoys attending the gym, socialising with friends and family and travelling.
Alison L McIntyre
Property Manager
Alison joined Pomphrey’s as our Property Manager in 2004 and has an extensive wealth of local knowledge and contacts in the property and rental markets. Alison became a Director of Pomphrey’s Properties when we opened our new estate agency premises at 36 Hill Street, Wishaw in 2017 and from July 2024 the sole owner. Her personal service and dedication in striving to achieve the best results possible for clients whether in sales or in lettings has resulted in an abundance of repeat and referral business.
When not working, Alison enjoys travelling and socialising with family and friends.
Elaine Sommerville
Operations Administrator
Elaine is the Operations Administrator for Pomphreys Solicitors.
Away from the Office she enjoys swimming, walking, socialising with friends, and following her local football team, Motherwell FC.
